So its here finally.

This is the Release Candidate of the Plex theme we were working on for a long time.

The following stuff is what we have in this package:

1. Updated 3d user picture application with shutdownframe mover.
2. Back and Forward buttons.
3. New shutdownframe-buttons in the StartMenu.
4. Main theme files (2 variations that includes hacked VARIANT file so alot of default colors are different and the startmenu is more like the Plex concept.).
5. Sidebar Style (for now only the new background and a weather gadget).
6. Combined folderband and infopane.
7. Welcome Center.
8. Winversion.
9: Entire new logonscreen also with new startup animation.
10: New icons in the imageres.
11: Wallpaper pack with nice wallpapers for both 4:3 and 16:9.
12: New bootscreen.
13: Glass toast skins (3)

If you notice any bugs, post it on the forum. Since this is a Release Candidate build there can still be some bugs.

This theme was made by the following people (by order of appearance):"

- Sakatari (for inspirng with the orignal plex he did smile.gif )

- Ishan (Started the project from Sakatari's first try, Helping alot with bugfixing, made the bootscreen and more)

- Eternal (Start menu, taskbar and startbutton, glass and much more)

- Jeremy (a.k.a Li Shaolan or Cesar) (Welcomescreen, Imageresicons, bugfixing, startbutton/taskbar and more)

- Dannydeman (VARIANT hacking, bugfixing, edit shutdownframe, packaged everything for release and more)

- AndreasV (Provided us with the updated version of his cool application)

And here are the people we didn't mention (they provided help in some little parts of the project) :

- Softech (we used his shell32 so the infopane and folderband are one, and did alter his nice shutdownbuttons)

- Victor

- Michael (we always need your help tongue.gif )

- Sonicexcess

- SkyDX (for glass toast alternative skins, and for kind support)

So you have the new Plex background smile.gif If you have Sidebar Styler you can do it yourself with the provided background image....

I haven't replaced the .exe yet, I was just asking happy.gif

Oh and how we are supposed to replace explorer.exe? Explorer has to be running to replace it but you can't replace it while it's running....

Does that Replacer application function on Vista?

Make sure to make a backup of critical files like explorer.exe before replacing them(if you haven't already heard that)... you could bungle things up real easy >_<!

I made a backup and good old CMD helped me to replace the file (I knew it would be useful one day to still know the old DOS commands happy.gif)

Good to hear smile.gif. I suppose if you just kill explorer.exe with the task manager, and then open a command prompt you should be able to do it; I gather you must have done something similar, but yeah.

Just rename the explorer.exe to a backupname you want. Like explorerBACKUP.exe. You can place the new explorer.exe, then kill it, and restart it.

@Aeden: CMD is the Command Prompt happy.gif

@Dannydeman: Never thought of that, thanks for the tip wink.gif

I must say this Theme is stunning... it feels like a whole new OS.

However I noticed no difference after replacing the Sidebar.exe and I can't get the Gadget installed, after I click on Install nothing happens and there is also no new entry in the Gadget Gallery, I also tried to unpack the .gadget file and then rename the folder with .gadget in the end. After that I moved the folder to my Windows Sidebar/Gadgets and Windows Sidebar Shared Gadget folder, still no success... sad.gif

Other than that, just perfect smile.gif
