DeskHack for Windows Vista - Version 1.0

This run-time hack fixes the hardcoded strings of
Vista's Desktop Settings Control Panel (desk.cpl)
for all Visual Styles (but not Aero.msstyles *g*).
So you can rename your Styles by hacking the
name.

If a .msstyles is not properly hacked, the file's
basename is used instead of the style description.

Install

RMB "DeskHack_Install.cmd" "Run as Administrator".

Changes in 1.1:
Whenever the resources (like .msstlyes.mui) where
broken, the name would not have been shown, now
in 1.1 it simply takes the filename then.

Download

Attached File  VistaDeskHack_1.1.zip ( 12.03K ) Number of downloads: 5967
Reason for edit: I was free enough to pin this topic, for easy finding.

I had this off-topic comment to say:

Im currently making a theme which requires Padded borders to be set to size 0.
I have figuered out how to write the setting into the theme file, but does anyone know..
How do i write Padded borders width = 0 into the VS?

Spaces work, but the filenames should have been consistent (to satisfy the Theme loader):
%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\Aero MaxClear\
%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\Aero MaxClear\Aero MaxClear.msstyles
%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\Aero MaxClear\en-US\Aero MaxClear.msstyles.mui

In the current release (3.1) the .mui has the wrong filename - this breaks Windows’ resource loading.
