Brilliant idea for a gadget!
Looking forward to being able to edit rules. I'd love to have an option to have three little icons on the side to switch modes manually. |

UAC off, administrator account. Vista Ultimate 64-bit with UAC disabled here. I thought I'd fixed that issue. I started work on an updated version that also changes the ATI graphics card profile, so I'll see if I can fix it for you in that. |

So, any updates on this gadget? In Vista 64 Home Premium it takes up space in the Sidebar, but the space remains empty - the gadget does not appear.

You should see something, even if it errors in the HTML you'll get a white box. Try exiting and reloading Sidebar once you've added it to it. On the update front, I have a newer version which sets the ATI/nVidia GPU profile as well as the CPU profile. It needs some work on the setting page though, as Sidebar's limit of 300x500 makes it somewhat messy, I'll probably move the profile settings to a Flyout. Before I post it, I need to implement the main GPU recognition code and a means of changing it, for users with nVidia cards, which are providing Physics only. |

Are you running this on XP or Vista as it wont work on XP. Worthless, do not even appear in the Sidebar... Create a debug.txt file in the Gadget folder and attach the file to a post here, once you've added the Gadget and restarted Sidebar. |

v0.7.1.0 available, which adds support for profile changing on ATI / nVidia graphics cards.
NOTES: 1. The settings page is a mess, which I'll get round to sorting soon. 2. ATI profile changing currently only works on 64bit Vista, if someone with 32bit / ATI could confirm the following registry key does contain the path to the CLI, I'll fix in the next release: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\\ATI\Path\CLI.exe 3. nVidia profile changing hasn't been tested beyond proving it does read the profile list. Any issues, please create a debug.txt file in the Gadget folder, restart Sidebar, reproduce the error and then attach the file to a post here. |

hey Jon great job man now the gadget is working, but, i wanna use it for manually set the power profiles, you say above that we have to delete the example rules on the settings page, but are you referring to the settings page on the gadget or on the settings.html on the gadget folder, cuz i have already deleted them from the gadget settings and press ok but if i enter to settings the example rules are there again no matter how much times i delete them they keep coming back.
and the only way to change the power plan using the gadget is to enter to settings and change the default power plan. Is this the only way to do it manually?, can't you add some buttons to the front end to change between the 3 power plans? maybe you can put the color changer in setttings menu and the 3 power plans/ buttons on the front. |

It's a bug in the main Gadget code. For the time being, edit gadget.js and delete the following line: CODE regexCount = 4; There's only one occurrence of it around line 100. Changing the power plan from the main Gadget is on the list of features to add. |

Hey man i've been using your gadget for a couple of days and i have noticed that it has a memory leak, if i load up the gadget the sidebar process goes up to 100 MB in about 15 to 30 minutes and keep growing. I'm sure this is a problem with your gadget cuz i've been running the same gadgets for more than 3 months and the bar never went above 40 MB.
